Welcome to Canterbury Duplicate Bridge Club
General Club Details

We are a friendly EBU affiliated Bridge club that currently meets and starts play at 7pm on Friday evenings in the St Dunstan's Church Hall, 80 London Road, Canterbury CT2 8LS (opens google map link). Please aim to be present by 6-55pm latest for prompt start. Please check the Calendar shown to the right of the Home page for any special events or planned club closures.

We use computer pre-dealt boards and Bridgemates scoring system uploaded to Bridgewebs.  Details of the hands are shown with the results on this website, usually later the same evening.

Tea/Coffee with some biscuits will be available from the kitchen.

Visiting pairs are always welcome, as are players of all standards of ability.

A small car park area is available on-site (up to @12 cars) and in local streets - (some streets without charge) and is quite close to Canterbury West Train station and its car park.

National Pairs - EBU

In 2026 any pair that gets 55% or over in a club game between 1st and 14th Feb (For Canterbury that will be the Friday 6th and Friday 13th) will be entitled to play in the Regional Finals on 22nd March. All club games that award full rate master points (those of 18 boards or more that are submitted by clubs) will count and the clubs do not need to do anything special - if the game is played and submitted, players who get over 55% will automatically qualify. Pairs games that are scored in IMPs will also count, subject to conversion using the same principles as used by the NGS.

There will be five regional finals, mostly run by counties from within the regions, on 22nd March with two online platforms (BBO and RealBridge) for each. Entry fees for the regional finals will be £13 per player. Players may qualify from any club in the country but at least one player from each pair must have allegiance to a county of the region in which they play the regional final. Two players who both qualify in different partnerships may form a new partnership to play in a regional final.

The results within the regions will be used to award the five regional trophies. All five regions will also be combined and scored nationally to determine the top 50 pairs, who will be entitled to play the National Pairs Final on RealBridge on 11th - 12th April 2026.

All the information is on the EBU website (Link https://www.ebu.co.uk/competitions/national-pairs)

'Partner Finder' or Host

We are currently unable to routinely offer a Host or Partnering service.

The Club operates a members only WhatsApp partner group. If the secretary has enough notice (min 72 hours) he may be able to see if a partner can be found, on request, for a non-member of the WhatsApp group as a one-off request. (it is expected for new members to join the WhatsApp group for future requests).
