CAIRNGORM BRIDGE CLUB MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
Draft MINUTES
Date/Venue Tuesday 2 October 2012 in St John’s Church Hall, Inverdruie at 6pm.

Minute Motion to approve Minute of meeting on 3 January 2012 proposed
by I Hogarth and seconded by P Roxburgh. Approved without
opposition.
Business Arising I Hogarth proposed that Membership be £10.00 for Home Club and
£5.00 for affiliated Club. A MacPherson seconded this.
We have now been in St John’s Church Hall, Inverdruie since
14 February 2012. This is now a permanent arrangement at a
Cost of £17.00 per week.
Minnie Lorimer Memorial Trophy –
It was decided to change the date of the Minnie Lorimer Memorial Trophy from 18 December to 11 December to enable a late change of
Date in the event of bad weather. I Hogarth will put this on the
Bridge website.
The Christmas Party will be included on the evening of the
Minnie Lorimer Memorial Trophy.
Dealing Machine –
There are mixed feelings about the use of the dealing machine.
Statistical analysis can be provided on the number of various
distributions in the dealing.
It was proposed by I Hogarth that the Club purchase two sets of
Boards for the dealing machine at a cost of £60.00 each.
A MacPherson confirmed that there were sufficient funds for this.
The cost would be shared by both Cairngorm and Grantown
Bridge Clubs.
End of Season Dinner –
At a future meeting a discussion will take place as to whether to have a Dinner at the end of the Spring session.
Press Reports –
I Hogarth wishes to share the issuing of press reports on an
ad hoc basis. R Brown will assist Ian.
Bridge Lessons –
As Pauline is now not available to help with bridge lessons, another volunteer is required to help. This will be put to the whole club to
find a volunteer.
It is felt that the members of the present class will be ready to
participate in a No Fears Competition in November/December.

Director’s Course -
I Hogarth wants to encourate more people to go on a Director’s
Course, to be suggested at a Bridge evening.
Mr and Mrs Renton –
A Burrows to write to Mr and Mrs Renton to thank them for their
work in dealing the Boards for the Club evenings.
Current Accounts –
A MacPherson gave a resume of the current accounts.
She also confirmed that we are covered for Public Liability
through the hall insurance.
