A Warm Welcome to Aviemore and The Cairngorm Bridge Club

The Cairngorm Bridge Club, the Bridge Club in Aviemore,  meets most Tuesday evenings, throughout the summer and winter, at St John's Church Hall, Rothiemurchus (nearly opposite the tennis courts, on the ski road). All players and visitors are welcome. Please arrive by 18.45hr and be seated by 18.50hr so that there can be a prompt start. It would be helpful, though not essential, if visitors could contact Carol on tel. 01479 810882 to let us know.

Club Championship 2017/18

Following requests the committee has decided to change the rules for this competition.

  1. All non competition nights in the main season will be counted towards the championship. (The number of nights counting will vary from season to season depending on the number of competitions that the club plays and depending whether a competition is postponed to another date. The number of counting nights is likely to be 13/14).
  2. The minimum number of nights that must be played for a pairs result to count is 6
  3. The counting score will be the average score over all the counting nights played by the pair.
Strathspey Trophy

Cairngorm Club  hosted the fourth friendly challenge for the Strathspey Trophy in March. It was an excellent afternoon with outstanding catering and great bridge. A big thank you the to the Banks for sponsoring the competition.

Grantown Club emerged as the winners. The clubs are now even on 2 matches all.

Ian's continuation class will re-start on Wednesday 4th October at 14.00 hr in St John's hall. Members of previous classes might benefit from coming for a refresher and would be most welcome. We have reached approximately lesson 22 of the SBU course. Topics are now revisited at a more advanced level.

Trish's fun bridge sessions start on Thursday 28th September. Everyone is welcome, with or without a partner.
