Convention Card Requirements & New Ruling!
Convention Card Requirements & New Ruling!

♠  ♣    NEW ACBL RULING ♠  ♣

After ALL SkipBids the next player must Wait 10 Seconds i.e.

(Stop and Jump) bids.

    ♠        ♣

STANDARD AMERICAN YELLOW CARD

All players must have a "Filled Out" Convention Card visible for opponents to see and refer to as the bidding proceeds. This is the "Gentleman's Agreement" that governs the level playing field of Duplicate Bridge and keeps all players within the bounds of honesty and eliminates deceptive practices.

If ever a bid needs to be explained or clarified the opponents have a right to look at your convention AND have you explain what bid means.

In the absence of declaring or having a "System" you are playing (especially new partnerships), it is expected that they default to Standard American Yellow Card or SAYC.

This is the most Basic and Universally Accepted system of play. From this card, partnerships are refined to enhance communication and predictability. It is the foundation of Duplicate Bridge play and utilizing it, you can play effectively with and against all other teams.
