Brunton Bridge Club
LATEST NEWS

Dear Members,

Mary Page our esteemed secretary has resigned her position on the Brunton Bridge Club Committee. I have very reluctantly accepted her letter of resignation.

I as Chairman have had a smooth and easy run these last few years ALL due to the excellence of Mary as secretary and I can't thank her enough.

In the meantime Eunice Ferguson will be acting as 'temp secretary' until either the next AGM or if an EGM is called beforehand

EBU Simultaneous Pairs

Many congratulations to Neil and Inga Aiston who are currently the national winners of Monday's EBU Simultaneous pairs.

See http://www.ebu.co.uk/sim-pairs/000128

for the national results.

Sadly Belle Boast, a long standing member of Brunton, passed away today 28th October, a week before her 100th birthday. I am sure everyone will remember Belle and her friend Gwen, hosted some of the best parties at the NEBA Congress both at Otterburn and The Derwent.   I can still remember when I was at Peebles and Belle and Gwen were playing against Zia Mahmood and his partner, and Belle doubled him in his final contract, saying "there are too many points in this pack!!!"  That evening in his seminar he acknowledged he had been taken to the cleaners by a pair of " little old ladies" - we all had a good laugh about it including Zia.  Happy memories!!!!!
