This competition is a based on performance on the night, with no qualifier.

A qualifying period covering twenty events is determined for each competition, indicated by (CPQ) in the calendar. The minimum number of attendances to qualify is eight. Each pair’s eight best results will be used to calculate their average score. The ten pairs with the highest average scores qualify for the single-event final. The winning pair will be determined by adding their percentage score on the night to half the difference between their qualifying percentage score and the lowest qualifying percentage score. In effect, this acts as a reverse handicap - good performance over the qualifying period is rewarded by a fast start in the final event.

For the 2016 competition, the qualifying period is 7 June to 15 November, inclusive.

This trophy is awarded to the member with the best individual performance over the qualifying period, excluding Club Competitions and Simultaneous Pairs events. The minimum number of attendances to qualify is twenty-five.

For the 2016/17 competition, the qualifying period is 7 April 2016 to 28 March 2017.
