Competition Match Reports 2017/18
Two wins, a near miss and a bloodied nose from the four teams on the 12th November
Full match reports avaiable in competition results section
It has been brought to our attention that a notorious London based gang, known as Big Monty Productions, are planning to visit Brighouse on 9 December this year. Specifically, they will be at the Assembly Rooms where they plan to commit a murder.
Your Committee have agreed with Local Authorities to volunteer the services of all club members to help identify the actual murderer.
To this end the Club's Christmas Party and Dinner will be staged on the same evening from 7.30 onwards. In order to blend in with the villains who are known for wearing 1920's style clothing members and their guests should do likewise. I am sure this will not be a problem for some of you. This could be black tie for the gentlemen.
To further assist in finding the culprit several volunteers will be needed to help set the scene by pretending to be the following characters. Remember, one volunteer etc……….
Justin Case. Executor
Juan Nil South American peasant
Doug Flowers Sexy Gardener
Paige Turner Lord Bertie’s Secretary
Albert Fortescue First son of Bertie Fortescue (Fort rings a bell)
Betty Bakewell Cook
Molly Hatchet American Gangsters Moll
Seymour Fettucini Italian American Gangster
Nanny Goht Bertie and Sebastian’s Nanny
More detailed information will be made available in early November to each of the volunteers or if necessary to the selected individuals.
To assist the flow of the evening it will commence with a champagne reception kindly sponsored by a club member (RA) and canapes for which I am still seeking sponsorship if anyone as any ideas. This will be followed by a magnificent dinner. (some assistance with the preparation and arrangements for this would be appreciated. (Please see Judith)
Tickets for members and guests will be £15 and the investigation will take place upstairs at the club. It is suggested that teams of four to ten people cooperate on the enquiry and those who correctly identify the murderer and supply enough evidence for a prosecution will be rewarded generously at the end of the evening. No names on trophy boards however.
Several members have already offered assistance but if anyone else is prepared to lend a hand it would be appreciated.
Tickets will go on sale in September.
PS The Committee apologises in advance if it is you who is murdered
