| Sonnet for March by Tony Wilkin |
Bridge is a game to be enjoyed by us,
Mind you thank partner when dummy goes down,
Don’t criticise partner or make a fuss,
It may even be wrong for you to frown!
Bidding conventions are two a penny,
Do not forget to declare the odd one.
Of pitfalls there are often too many,
To avoid them all you may well have won!
Check your score carefully after each game,
Possibly you only had a part score.
Ensure your opponents record the same,
Maybe they were thinking that they had more.
Having managed to get it together,
Your partner may stay with you for ever! |
