| Message from Julia |
Dear Member,
Ben Beever is now the chair of the Bridge club and I would like to wish him all the best in his new role. I am sure members will give him as much support as has been given to me over the past 3 years.
I would like to thank all the members of the club and the committee especially Doris for the beautiful flowers they are really lovely.
Finally this is the last email you will get from me and I would like to thank Steve Mattinson for the wonderful job he did in organising the trophies and prizes for tonight’s presentations. There is a terrific amount of work in getting the trophies cleaned and engraved and collating all the prizes for the AGM. Again thank you Steve.

| City Cup |
Hi to all at the Club,
As one of the 50 bridge clubs that so kindly and successfully hosted a City Cup event in the past year I thought you might like to know that the 51st and final City Cup event is to be hosted by Richmond Bridge Club on Wednesday 15th May.
If you or any of your members happen to be in London on that day you are very welcome to attend this special evening.
So special indeed that I have the honour of playing with Zia Mahmood no less - wow!
If however you cannot make it, may I take this opportunity to offer my sincerest thanks for your part in making this project so successful.
Best regards, David Wing

| Thanks from Headway Stockport & South Manchester |
Dear Julia,
Our treasurer Reg Bowdler has informed me that your Bridge Club has kindly raised the sum of £275 by way of donation to our branch. I would like to pass on the sincere thanks of myself, all the committee and our membership for your excellent fund raising efforts on our behalf.
The funds will be used to support the services we provide to our brain injured members and their families living in the Stockport area. In particular it is likely to be used to subsidise a number of trips and outings that we have planned over the next few months, so our members do not have to contribute themselves out of their very limited personal funds.
If you would like to come along to visit our branch at any time please do not hesitate to contact me.
One again many thanks.
Kind regards, Rachel Rees Secretary Headway Stockport & South Manchester |

at 7.30. Table money will be £2.00. Everyone is welcomed. |

| Hosting System |
The committee have decided to introduce a hosting system for the new season. From the start of April, members who need a partner and who arrive by 7:25 pm are guaranteed to play either with another member in the same situation or with the host. Members of the committee have agreed to volunteer to be host for the first couple of months and then if successful will ask for volunteers to be host. Volunteers will be entitled to free bridge on the evening they host and free bridge the next time they play. It is vital that members volunteer to host or the system will not work. We are sure there is a need for it and indeed most clubs offer this service, so please co operate. It is only 1 night per year. |
