Who’s it for?

Anyone who enjoys a relaxed, friendly evening’s duplicate.

We especially welcome less experienced players who would like to play duplicate but don’t feel ready for the cut and thrust of a ‘real’ bridge club – help is always at hand from partners and opponents as well as the director.

Whose club is it?

Our intention is that Box BC should be a self-financing members' club run for and by the communities of Box and surrounding areas. For the moment, it's being run on a non-profit-making basis by Bridge @ Box. We would welcome offers of help!

How much does an evening’s bridge cost?

For the moment, £2.50 per head including refreshments * .

As time goes on, we’ll have a clearer picture of the running costs – we expect it to be £2-£2.50 for members, £3-£3.50 for non-members and a £10 annual membership fee.

* Coffee, tea and biscuits. For wine-drinkers, it’s strictly BYOB!

Will we be affiliated to the English Bridge Union?

Not initially. That’ll be up to the membership to decide at a later date.

What about Master Points?

As we're not affiliated to the EBU, this is not an option. Again, this will be a decision for the membership.
