| SPECIAL MEETING |
There was a Special Meeting on July 26, 2016 where the new by-laws for the Club were approved.
A big thankyou to Will Sutherland for coordinating, spear-heading and hosting the committee. Also much appreciation and gratitude goes to John Roland and Rowland Fleming for their hard work drafting the new by-laws using their legal expertise. Marie Melnichuk, Ruth Eidt and Sandy Ivison provided valuable input by researching the by-laws of other clubs and actively participating in the lengthy discussions on each section. A job well done and much appreciated by the membership.

| Congratulations Marie, Our Newest Life Master |
My journey toward Life Master started in 2009. Taking one of Sandy Dickson's classes, Sandy said that if ever one were to join ACBL, 2009 would be the year, as Life Master's requirements were changing in 2010 to be 500 masterpoints. Being someone who likes to take advantage of a bargain, I joined ACBL then. Previously, I played kitchen bridge, bridge at University, bridge at 1 a.m. when I was week-ending in Collingwood. Skiing during the day, dinner with friends, and bridge after the bars closed. Psych bids were common. By the end of 2013, I had accumulated about 80 points. That is about 20 points per year. Then suddenly my priorities changed. In 2015, I won my first gold points at a Regional in Toronto, and I was hooked, chasing those gold points as Christine said, they were like gold stars in grade one. I would like to thank all my partners for their patience with me, and their help in garnering those black, silver, red and gold points. In particular I would like to thank those who helped me earn those elusive gold points. Most recently Cathy and Ruth whom Cathy and I teamed up with in Swiss Teams in Kingston, and where I garnered enough points for Life Master Thank you also to Christine in Hilton Head and Ontario, Dave and Doug, who also helped me earn those elusive gold points. As for the next Life Master ranks, Bronze, Silver, Ruby, I'll see them in my dreams.
