Improver Sessions

After taking feedback from members and reviewing sessions to date, I am thinking of closing the formal side with back-to-back sessions after Easter, covering No Trump bidding.

And then moving to a series of 'Partner Me' sessions, where I partner up for an evening duplicate with a willing improver, to hopefully give us the chance to discuss what we have covered so far in the Improver Sessions, I will set out more detail before we break for Easter.

MP Pairs Competition

Three separate 'sub-competitions' - Spring; Summer; Winter

Held across the membership year [excluding August]

Note: for 2008, there has been a minor change to the scoring method:

To try and reward equally those who are excellent regular scorers and those who have occasional flashes of brilliance mixed with 'best forgotten' nights, we have two slightly different scoring methods.

For the Spring and Winter MP's we operate a Best Scores system, your Best 10 scores are used to calculate your MP average.

For the Summer round [and incidentally for the Rose Bowl] we aggregate all your scores and divide by total attendances.

In all cases there is a minimum attendance to qualify, which is approximately 1/3 of the available duplicates in that competition period.

We review the MP Competitions annually and take account of Member feedback.
