We are phasing out the acceptance of cheques as payment of table money at Berks & Bucks events. At county events, table money will be cash only - cheques will not be accepted.  Cheques will continue to be accepted at the Green Point events.

Bridge Scorer for League of Eight Matches

We are pleased to announce that the County have found a scoring program for League of Eight matches that links to Bridgemates and automatically scores the match, produces the Butler analysis and uploads the match results onto club websites.

The program is called “Bridge Scorer” and is to be made available to all B&B clubs free of charge for the clubs.

The committee hope that clubs use the program this coming season in their League of Eight matches.

However, the use of Bridge Scorer is optional as it is appreciated that some clubs do not have a computer to run the program and /or do not use Bridgemates.

So it will be acceptable for such clubs to continue to use the paper travellers system and produce Butlers by whichever method they currently use if they so wish.

Bridge Scorer also has the added benefit of being able to produce Cross-Imps scoring for those captains who prefer it over Butlers.

This ability to score Cross-Imps ( a superior method of scoring over our current “Add and Imp” method ) will enable us to move to Cross-Imps in the future if we so desire.

The committee hopes that clubs will see this new initiative as a positive progress in the scoring of Lof8 matches.
