We are phasing out the acceptance of cheques as payment of table money at Berks & Bucks events. At county events, table money will be cash only - cheques will not be accepted. Cheques will continue to be accepted at the Green Point events.
The county has set up a new e-group facility that ensures you receive occasional reminders of events and county information via email. You will receive this information automatically if your email is registered in “My Details” within your EBU Members’ area. You can change your email address or unsubscribe by following the simple instructions at the bottom of an email.
If you have not registered your email with the EBU but would still like to be added to the B&BCBA list, please email the B&BCBA Membership Secretary - Dave Green: firstname.lastname@example.org
Any member of the English Bridge Union who has not chosen another County Association as his or her county of prime allegiance is eligible to become a full member. Membership of the EBU is automatic for members in good standing of a club affiliated to the Union. Others may join by direct subscription – for details, click on “Useful Links” and from there to the EBU website.
EBU members with prime allegiance to another county may join Berks & Bucks as a “dual” member - in theory by paying an annual subscription. As the subscription for the current year is zero, anyone playing in an event open to all EBU members will have the option to become a dual member at no cost. This will change should Berks & Bucks adopt a positive subscription rate in the future.
EBU members may choose their county of prime allegiance, and may change this once in each year. In the absence of a choice, members are allocated to the county of the first club that registered them as a club member. Thus those who play regularly in clubs affiliated to Berks & Bucks will normally be members of this County Association, this will not be the case if their prime allegiance is elsewhere.
Full members do not pay a subscription, but anyone, whether member or guest, playing in an EBU affiliated club pays a “pay to play” charge each time they do so. Affiliated clubs do pay an annual subscription. The rates for the financial year commencing on 1st April 2017 are as follows.
Pay to Play Charge – Juniors
Under 27 on the 01/01/17
Subscription - Affiliated Clubs
- Dual Clubs
- Dual Members
