.FRIENDLY PAIRS - 12th MARCH 2017
Friendly Events

These are county organised competitions aimed at new and less experienced bridge players and regular club players who want to play in a relaxed environment with others of similar experience.   We make special efforts to ensure that the events take place in a friendly atmosphere and so, no matter how inexperienced you feel you are, you can be sure of a warm welcome.  In support of this, the event is only open to pairs having NGS Ratings* which add to less than 21 (or are considered to be of equivalent standard if an NGS Rating is not available).  ( * Jack=11, Queen=12, etc.)       Contact John Pendered (01494 674901) for more information.

Level 2 Conventions

In order to make this event more "friendly", playing conventions are restricted to Level 2.    Most likely this will not affect less experienced players.    But more experienced players will not be allowed to play some of the more "aggressive" conventions.    A "Multi 2-Diamond" opening is an example of such a convention - but there are other restrictions.    Click on this panel for a summary of Level 2.
