Berks & Bucks Contract Bridge Association (BBCBA)

Our objectives:

·        Promoting and encouraging the playing of bridge at all levels

·        Supporting and assisting BBCBA clubs with any problems or issues

We aim to meet these objectives by:

·        Organising county competitions at a wide range of levels

·        Organising feedback from clubs on issues such as the role of clubs in EBU administration

·        Supporting the Minibridge initiative in schools

·        Providing information about bridge clubs and teachers

·        Organising an annual 24 pairs a side Berks v Bucks match at three levels

·        Financially assisting the BBCBA teams in National competitions

·        Acting as shareholders, representing BBCBA interests at EBU meetings

Our philosophy:

·        Ordinary events should break-even

·        Surpluses on LO8, LO4, County Teams and Pairs to go towards the entry fees of the winners playing in the relevant national competition

·         Pay-to-play income to cover overheads (including this Handbook), the  Berks v Bucks match and BBCBA teams in National competitions, in particular the EBU’s major inter-county competition for teams of 8, the Tollemache
