Our programme starting the last week of September 2010 will be:

Revision class: suitable for experienced players who like to be reminded of conventions before playing a duplicate session. Revision is for 30 minutes before play and suitable hands will be included during play.

Beginners: suitable for absolute beginners, or players who feel they would like to start again from the very beginning (see menu bar for a Registration Form).

Improvers: suitable for people who can already play bridge but would like to learn some new conventions or improve their playing and defensive skills. Also the next step for students who have completed Year One of Bridge for All.

(There is no need to bring a partner to any of these classes; we will find you one.)

Congratulations to our winners: Ian and Yvonne Wood (pictured) who came top N/S, and Jan Bird and Anna Marriott who came top E/W.  Well done to everyone (especially our first year students) for playing their first random boards.  During the summer months, all students are welcome to come and practice playing on Wednesday evenings.  Play starts at 7.00pm and table money is 5.00pds.

26 pairs of our fearless students participated in the EBU Education Simultaneous Pairs in March.  The current rankings out of 222 pairs, are: Maggie Neill and Sylvia Brown in 10th position, Chrissy Coward and Linda Taylor in 11th position, and Lynda Woodbridge and Dorothy Rendall in 16th position.  Congratulations to all.

Classes are held at BRLSI, 16-18 Queen Square, Bath.  Thursday classes are held at the Old Town Hall, Midsomer Norton.  All classes include refreshments.  Click here for photos of our students working hard at playing bridge.

Our students have returned from The Really Easy Summer Congress at Brighton.  We were there for three days and some great bridge was played.  Our brave Year One students played from Monday to Wednesday and played in their first Swiss Pairs; our improvers played Tuesday to Thursday, and Christine and Margaret played in the midnight 'Speedball'.  We are looking forward to next year's congress already. 

Our end of year party was held on 7th July.  Our visitors from Aix en Provence and guests from other Bath bridge clubs came to help make this a very festive event.  The buffet was most impressive; many thanks to everyone who contributed towards the refreshments.  A special thank you to everyone who helped lay out the buffet and took care of the boules.

We had 17 tables playing bridge and despite the hot weather, the Pimm's helped cool us all down.  The winners in the Green Section were: Mireille Dany/ Andrew Clark, and Jean Pierre Turquet/ Jean Francoise Dany.  In the Blue Section, our winners were: Maggie Neill/ Sylvia Brown, and Pat and Frank Bell.
