Many members of the club played on Sunday 1 November in the Swiss Teams at Filleigh in which stronger pairs are matched with less experienced ones to produce more balanced teams.. The profit of £520 is to be split between North Devon Hospice (£420.00) and Macmillan Cancer Support (£100.00). Click to see the full results.
 

At the Graphic Cup on Sunday 10th May, Brenda was presented with a vase and bouquet by the section to thank her for 18 years' service as Treasurer for The North Devon Congress, and for the many other ways in which she has facilitated bridge in the region, both as Chair of the Braunton Club and running no fear afternoon bridge and very successful charity days. The presentation was made by Mike Hamon, Chair of the DBA.

The Swiss Teams was ably run by Don Pearson from Newton Abbot with many members of the club among the thirteen teams. Mike, Enid & Clare Hamon playing with Ann Husk were in first place closely followed by Alison playing with Ann Slee, Viv Mably & Richard Lingham.  Full results are on The Devon Website. On Sunday 31 January many North Devon players were joined by others to contest Dartington Swiss Teams.  The venue and catering was as usual appreciated by all. £460 was raised for the ND Hospice and £100 for Macmillan Nurses.  There was very close competition between the 18 team present with Phil, Jenny, Dick and Terry coming to the front at the end. Terry replaced Dick's regular partner Gaynor at the last moment; we wish Gaynor a recovery from her illness. Roger Luckham's team were a close second. The Anoyrkatis family won the intermediate prize, while Liz Timbrell's team were clear winners of the C prize. Click here for full results.
