Children In Need - Tuesday 13th November
Children In Need - Tuesday 13th November

The club raised a magnificent £117 for BBC Children in Need on Tuesday night. Aren't we a generous lot.
Andrew Mason and Peter Malpass were briefly top of the national ranking
list (out of 1990 pairs), but were just pipped to second place with a magnificent 73%. Click HERE to check out the national results.
This is a Sims Pairs night where you can compare your score with hundreds of other clubs around the country playing the same hands at the same time.
Your contribution to the charity is voluntary and goes directly to the organisers. Our club stands the cost of the administration.

EBU Autumn Simultaneous Pairs

EBU Autumn Simultaneous Pairs 2012

On Tuesday 11th September, Aylesbury Vale Bridge participated in the EBU Simultaneous Pairs, in which we played the same hands as several clubs across the country.  Peter Malpass & Andrew Mason, and Keith Smith & Michi Ashikaga, both feature very highly on the national ranking list (2nd and 4th as I write).  Many congratulations to both pairs.

AVB again took part in the BBC Children in Need appeal. Last year our members competed against 1826 other pairs in bridge clubs playing on a Tuesday evening raising over £65000 in total over the week.
This year the club raised £265.42, which is now winging its way to CiN.
Andrew & Liz Thomas were the leading pair at the club, and currently (as I write) they lie 41st nationally out of a total of 2108 pairs.

Tuesday November 16th 2010
We held a heat of the Children in Need Simultaneous Pairs, our favourite Sim Pairs, because donations are voluntary.

The club raised £135 in donations to the charity.

As well as scoring this just as if it were a regular club night, results are compared with many other clubs nationwide (and further), to produce a national ranking list.  You can see this overall ranking list on the Ecats webpage.

Mike & Jeannie Dobson finished 22nd nationally out of a total of over 2000 pairs.
