Congratulations to Kate who is this year's Winner of the Chairman's Cup.  Awarded to the member who displays the most consistent performance over the year.  We had 100 sessions of duplcate pairs this year so finding 60% of 100 was easy.

Congratulations to Gerry and Ian on winning the Inaugural Brian Burrows Handicap Cup for 2011.

Brian played only a few times with us, but he very much liked the club and its welcoming atmosphere, particularly for weaker and less experienced players. In his memory a trophy has been donated by his bridge partner Carolyn, with the aim of encouraging all players to compete.

Since the club started last April we have had a rota of volunteer directors consisting of Richard, Kevin, Ian, Mike and Gill.  Last month three new recruits joined the ranks – Lisa, Bill and John.

In December Kevin and Ian attended part three of the EBU director training days on judgment rulings which deals with more difficult problems such as misinformation. 

On behalf of all of our club members I would like to congratulate Ian, who on Saturday attended the assessment course which, I am happy to report he passed with a distinction and the highest score of the day.
