An Ace evening for all!
An Ace evening for all!

A warm welcome to new faces – and old! - made for a great evening at Aylesbury Aces first social bridge supper at a packed village hall in Butlers Cross on Saturday night.

The Swiss pairs format ensured we all moved around the room, socialising with those we may not meet so often.  For those who managed to make progress up the room well done!

Play was rewarded with a feast! The breaks for the courses ensured everyone mixed up a bit more - I don’t know if anyone felt they were able to walk around faster than a waddle by the end! Delicious!

Thanks to everyone who came, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and a big vote of thanks to the organisers, particularly Dorothy, Barbara, Gill and Kate for the catering, and Gill and John for the bridge.  To all the other helpers, and you know who you are, thanks for your many contributions, they are all very much appreciated.

The next social event will be posted on our website next month.

New Name, New Venue

The name with most votes, and favourite with the committee, is 'Aylesbury Aces'.

. . . and we have managed to book the new Weedon Hill Community Centre for Thursday evenings starting this week (directions below). This is 'ace' news.

We are hoping to negoitate to secure Tuesdays too, but his may take longer as we are competing with other groups for that night. However we haven't given up hope! So please be patient with us while we work on Tuesday nights.

On a temporary basis we will continue in the function hall at the Bucks CC Sports and Social Club on Tuesdays while looking into other possibilities.

We look forward to seeing you there.
