HANDICAP PAIRS COMPETITION

Predealt hands will be supplied with a full print out available at the end of the evening which will give hands, points per hand per deal and makeable contracts.

NB Makeable does NOT mean Biddable

RULES

1. The event is a pairs competition for the Peter Cole Shield.

2. The event will be played on a normal club evening in standard pairs format.

3. The handicap result will be an adjustment to the underlying pairs result on the evening.

4. The pairs event before adjustment will score in the normal way for the pairs ladder and masterpoints.

5. Eligible participants for the handicap pairs trophy must consist of two members of Aylesbury Bridge Club.

6. Players must have a valid handicap.

7. To have a valid handicap players must have recorded at least one pairs score at ABC during the previous competition year.

8. Individual handicaps are calculated as the average of all pairs event scores registered for each player during the previous competition year.

9. Scores counting are all those registered irrespective of partner.

10. The handicap for a pair is the sum of each individuals handicap divided by two.

11. Handicap adjustments will work from a 50% base

12. Averages for the pair that result in a sum in excess of 50% will mean a negative percentage adjustment to the evenings score equal to their average less 50.

13. Averages for the pair that result in a sum below 50% will mean a positive percentage adjustment to the evenings score equal to 50 less their average.
