Please note that the club will be closed from 23rd to 26th December. In addition there will be no Duplicate on New Years Eve.

Please also note that from 6th January the club will be closed on Tuesdays.

League Tables for Avenue League and Non Swiss Pairs as of 12th Nov can be found under COMPETITIONS

Here is something for everybody. Every Tuesday evening, as well as the normal duplicate in the evening, we shall offer a £1/100 rubber bridge scramble, hosted by me, open to the first nine players to reply to this email (or to inform the rubber hosts in the afternoon). The idea is to have 8 or 9 players in a £1/100 scramble where everyone partners everyone else once in a chicago and plays against everyone else twice (sitting out once if nine players). Players play 7 or 8 chicagos in the evening (28 or 32 hands).

The first nine players to sign-up play, starting at 7.30 pm, or earlier if they are ready. Whilst the initial list closes at nine players, if fifteen (to eighteen) players sign-up, then we can run a second game. Normal rubber bridge table monies applies (£8 p.p. which includes all teas/coffees) and you are playing for stakes of £1/100. What can possibly go wrong?!

If all players are agreeable – they have been up until now! – then we play pre-duplimated boards, created and dealt in the preceding hour. So there will be hand records available afterwards. The duplicate, run by Sarah, plays different duplimated hands.

Clearly there will be some duplicate players out there, licking their lips, recognising that a straight-forward, money-making scheme has been put their way.

So, you all know what to do. Let me know and you are in the game, as long as you reply
