| History |
The Athlone '72 Club was founded in 1972 by Tadhg O'Donoghue, Paddy O'Toole, Bridie Corcoran, John Daly and Kitty Higgins.
The main objectives were and still are:
(a) to make bridge accessible to those wishing to play all year round,
(b) to promote bridge and
(c) have an open door policy to anyone wishing to join.
