Welcome to the website of the Alpha Chelmsford Bridge Club.
The Alpha Bridge Club is a friendly Bridge Club which meets for duplicate bridge on a Friday night at 7.15 for a 7.30 start. We play at the Newlands Spring Community Centre in north-west Chelmsford.
Parking - we can now park in the main Morrison's car park, which will not be locked until after we leave.
We are not allowed to park in the Library or the Doctors' car park.
The club provides refreshments - tea, coffee soft drinks and biscuits
New members and visitors are always welcome - (see Information page for contact details and current charges)
Normal attendance is between 10 & 12 tables. Most evenings are Duplicate Pairs but usually the last evening in the month is a Teams competition.
Scoring is now done electronically, using Bridgepals, so the results are available on the evening. They will appear on the website by the following day.
For more details see Information or Calendar
On 25th May 2018 the new Data Protection Laws came into force. This has the following effects on Club Members:When joining the club, or renewing membership, individuals will be asked to agree to their email address and phone number being included on the secure password protected area of the Alpha website and for their data to be passed to the EBU and ECBA solely so that they can contact members directly with items that may be of interest.
Members' data will always be held securely on password controlled websites or personal devices. All communication with members will be by mailshot or email blind copy so no personal details are available to other addressees. Data will not be shared with other organisations.
Any member who does not want their contact details shown in a "partner finder" email must make that known when requesting a partner.
Partner requests are now sent to Chelmsford and Lingwood Members – if you do not want this to happen, please make this known when requesting a partner.
If you need a partner, please contact Janet:
01277 624078 or email: email@example.com
Please note that from 23 November 2018 polystyrene cups will no longer be provided for tea, coffee or cold drinks.
A small quantity of these cups will be available until the current supply runs out.
Please bring your own mugs with you.
