If you can, please volunteer to be a Host Partner on a Tuesday evening.

There are lots of teachers available to teach Minibridge in Schools / or to teach youngsters as part of a comprehensive programme for introducing Minibridge and Bridge to school pupils and creating various school bridge clubs.

If you would like to know how to run Taster Sessions in Schools please contact Douglas

Why not provide a venue for Bridge in your club? It's the ideal way to make full use of your existing facilities and increase social membership.

Hindhead Golf Club

For some time we have been investigating how to increase the numbers at our regular Tuesday evening and Thursday morning Duplicate & Supervised Play session. At the same time, Hindhead Golf Club has been investigating how to create vibrant social activities at the Club. We have had discussions between 3 Counties Bridge, Hindhead Golf Club and bridge players who attend Bridge Suppers at Hindhead Golf Club. These discussions have led to the idea of combining these players, which will enable the holding of Duplicate & Supervised Play sessions at Hindhead Golf Club, in principle every Tuesday evening with play commencing at 7.15pm, enabling players to attend the Bridge Suppers and enabling players to become Social Members of Hindhead Golf Club..

It is planned that we will trial Duplicate & Supervised play sessions on 30 October and 4 December at Hindhead Golf Club, also invite all players to existing Duplicate & Supervised Play sessions at Quinnettes between now and Christmas, and invite all players to existing planned Bridge Suppers. Due to existing commitments and also to enable us to assess all aspects of enabling these groups to benefit from partaking in the other social activities, we are aiming to commence weekly Duplicate & Supervised play sessions at the start of the New Year with the first being held on Tuesday 15 January. Between now and then it is hoped that everyone will join in the various activities and also provide feed back to Douglas Wright so that we can take into account everyones' views.

It is intended that the table money for visitors playing at Hindhead Golf Club and playing at Quinnettes, will remain the same at £6. The fee for Supervised Play will remain the same at £8. Visitors will be able to join the Hindhead Golf Club as Social members, giving them access to all the Club's social activities. Once Visitors choose to become members, there will be a commensurate reduction in the table money for Duplicate Play. Therefore it is not envisaged that there will be an increase in the actual cost of playing bridge but there will be the option of benefiting from the functions and facilities at Hindhead Golf Club, if players choose so to do.

We are also investigating a similar arrangement for a daytime play session and Saturday Team Bridge Suppers 4pm for 4.30pm start, so that everyone can benefit from numerous social activities.

Saturday Team Bridge Supper dates:

8 September, 6 October, 3 November, 8 December 2018 and 5 January, 2 February, 2 March, 6 April and 4 May 2019
