Welcome to the 1989 Bridge Club website. The aim of the Club is to play competitive duplicate bridge in a friendly atmosphere. We have a membership of 80 people and generally between 9 – 11 tables per week.
The Club was formed in September 1989 and for many years our meetings were held at St Mary’s Church Hall in Reigate. When that hall was being rebuilt in 2012 we moved to the Reigate Community Centre attached to the Methodist Church and have remained there ever since.
We meet every Thursday evening. Play commences at 7.30pm but we ask members to arrive early to help set up tables and chairs and to deal boards before the start of play. There is a tea break for ten minutes half way through the evening.
Visitors are always welcome and the club would be happy to increase the membership. We ask you to come along for three sessions to see if you would enjoy our club and would like to join.
Application Forms are available. Click on the box immediately below.
Most of the options listed on the left of the screen can be accessed by anyone, whether members or not. But there is also a Members Only section which can only be read by members who have registered on it and will need to login using their User Id and Password. You access this section by clicking "Membership" in the list of options or "Members Only" at the top right hand corner of this Home page. There you can write your own message, eg needing a bridge partner for a particular evening. You can also alter or delete your own message but other members can't alter yours.
We have a Steward System in operation so members can turn up and be guaranteed a game. Within the Information option of the main menu is the Stewards information option. This details the list of play dates and who is the Steward on that evening. There will almost certainly be a date that need filling. If you could volunteer to be a Steward please sign the list on the Noticeboard at the Club.
To enable the Director to organise the evening's play please be seated by 7.15pm
