Tournament SecretaryÕs Report 2017-18
Overall a
successful year with numbers up in most competitions. Down in
% individual Final and County KO Teams
I propose a
few changes for next season and the next.
The first is
to add an open section to both the IC pairs & Teams and run each as a two
section events. In the restricted section it will be stratified.
We will
change the % Individual Final to an Individual Event.
The County
Knock out Teams. Teams knocked out in the first round will be entered into a
plate event.
The
Championship Pairs has been moved later in the calendar so hopefully in the
19/20 season we can again hold heats locally around the county and just have a
all play all final at Woolavington. Hopefully with a
larger entry all finalist will receive Green points.
We have add
a new event Ranked Masters.
Our County
League and Pairs League remain our most popular events. Thanks for this must go
to Bob Warender for all his hard work on the County League.
Tony Russ for his hard work on the Pairs League. Also thanks to Alan Atkinson
for dealing all our boards.
I would like
to also encourage Club Directors who would like to improve their skills, to
shadow a Director at a County event.
