HIWCBA Sim Pairs Competition Entry
2019-2020 HIWCBA Sim Pairs Events

HIWCBA will be running fourCharity Simultaneous  Pairs events again this year: each one in support of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

  • Simple Systems Simultaneous Pairs, October 28 – November 1. Complete. Winners : Georgina Boase & Jennifer Privett :  Full results here
  • Chidwick Cup Simultaneous Pairs, December 2 - 6 Winners: Marian Grasso & Carol Parkes  : Full results here
  • IBM Cup Simultaneous Pairs, February 10 – 14 (2020)
  • Bayer No-Fear Simultaneous Pairs, April 27 – May 1

The third event, the IBM Cup, will be held in February (10-14). HIWCBA will make a charge of £2/player (in addition to any club table money), with all profits going to the Air Ambulance.
A commentary will be prepared and will be available to participants at the end of the event.
The same hands will be played in all the heats. Various clubs will hold heats throughout the week, including:

Mon   Titchfield
          Newport (IoW)
          Andover
          Basingstoke
Tues  Petersfield

Winchester
        Badger Farm
Thurs Waterlooville

Hayling Island
Fri      Island

And we are hoping that some of Newbury, Pilley, Lymington & Meon might join the list.

Obviously players may only play in one heat. Maybe you would like to find out if and when your local club is running a heat.
To run a heat all you need to do is be able to get together three full tables and play 18 boards in one session sometime during the week of February 10th-14th.
Access to dealing machine and computer scoring would be useful, but we may be able to help.
If you are interested in running a heat or would just like to know more please e-mail Mike Kinsey at wmkinsey@yahoo.co.uk
