Tollemache Cup ; Inter-county championship for teams of eight.
HIWCBA is hoping to ‘send’ a team to the 2023-2024 Tollemache inter-county teams of 8 Championship.
The EBU is running the qualifier event online on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November (Follow link for full details on the EBU website)
The committee requests that any pairs, both of whose members have prime allegiance to HIWCBA, who think they are (a) sufficiently competent both bridge-wise and in their grasp of online technology and (b) available for the majority of the sessions of play detailed above, should contact us via the form on this page.
We are limited to a maximum of 12 players over the weekend – so it may be that we can accommodate pairs that can only play on one day or only at particular times. However that will only be possible if the selected players can be satisfactorily fitted together to form a viable team of 8 for all the scheduled sessions.
Therefore if you do wish to apply for selection then please let us know the days/times that you are available.
Selection will therefore be determined by a 3 person committee (Mike Kinsey, Guy Lawrenson & ANO) and be based primarily on perceived ability, gold point standing and recent online performance.
The committee will also take account of the pairs’ stated availability over the 2 days.
