Teams 1, 4, and 5 play 3 Home matches and the remainder play 2 Home Matches |

The Home Captain is responsible for making all the arrangements. Please offer your opponents at least 3 different dates on different days of the week or try and find a compromise. If all else fails you may play a substitute as long as they are members of the Bourne Bridge Club and have not played in any other team. |

Most Matches are played in members homes with light refresments provided by the home side. If required, Club equipment may be used for the match and is available from the Bridge store room in a box marked Internal Winter League. If this is in use there is a reserve box. Please ensure this equipment is booked out and back on the sheet on the notice-board. The key is available from the Club office. Alternatively a team may wish to play in the Bridge Room. Please book this through the Club office Tel. 01252 716144. Remember to ask for the heating to be switched on if necessary.
At the end of a match both Captains should agree the I.M.P score and the Home Captain is responsible for reporting the result. Please use the excel file supplied - Winter League Captain's Result Sheet.xls. This will automatically convert the I.M.P. score to V.P.s. Captains, please complete this document and email the result back to me. Updated results will be displayed on our web site. |
If the actual team Captain is not playing, an alternative team member should be designated to be Captain of the day. |
Should a team concede a match, their opponents will receive 10 VPs or, if greater, its average against all other teams. The defaulting side receive no VPs. |
At the end of the competition, the winning team is the one with the highest aggregate score over all matches. Each winning team member will be presented with a bottle of wine at the AGM. Should there be a tie for first place, a deciding match will be played between the two top teams to provide an overall winner. |
These timings and rounds are for guidance and this is supposed to be an informal, enjoyable league. |
